TEAM FLAG

Our team flag, is in the shape of a leaf.

We used tree branches to imitate the veins of a leaf to make it look more realistic. Our group members worked together to doodle in the spaces of our letters. Our flag is simple but our goal is for it be able to assist us in the process of delivering our message of being more conscious towards other living beings such as animals and marine life. After all, Earth is a home that we all are sharing.

TEAM PHILOSPHY / MANIFESTO

The name of our group for this assignment is “Greenworks” and I know it may strike up a question or two in your head.

“Why Greenworks?”
“What does Greenworks even mean?”

We were inspired by the famously renowned DreamWorks Animation. According to its website on www.dreamworksanimation.com

EXAMPLE

The Taiji dolphin drive hunt is held every year & its hunting season is from September- March. Dolphins hunted here are usually sold off for commercials uses and some of its dolphins are sold off to aquatic parks too.

“Imagine something different”

This struck a chord in our members as we got to thinking。

What if we imagined something different?

✨Imagine a world different✨
A world where dolphins and seals aren’t hunted for the use of mankind.

Not just as an exotic delicacy, but also for entertainment purposes.

When we think of places like SeaWorld and aquariums like Aquaria KLCC, they’re pictured as a fun indoor “aquarium” where anyone can go to have fun with aquatic creatures and take pictures and touch and study them. Everyone is always excited to take pictures with smiling dolphins and watch seals perform quirky acts.

however,

NO ONE ever thinks about “Where do these animals come from?” “How were they brought here?”

GREENWORKS

We hope that Greenworks can help out in spreading awareness about what takes place behind these industries.

Opting for cruelty-free options is not that difficult of a choice to make.

For example, we can always choose to watch circuses that don’t exploit animals. A famous example is Cirque du Soleil.

We can always stay away from aquariums and seaworlds because there are books and museums and even TV programs like Discovery Channel that exhibit more details about these animals and wild creatures for the public to study and learn about. The only difference is that we are learning about them in their natural habitat instead of caging them in a limited space. The ocean is a vast place and animals that belong there should never have to call an indoor-aquarium their ‘home’.

As millennials, we believe that it is also our responsibility to reduce and if possible, eliminate the use of plastic in our daily lives.
